ThinkTank CityWalker 10 Camera Bag Review

I have owned many camera bags in the past. It’s always a quest to find that perfect one, but in reality you need 2-3 bags to be rally happy. Each bag should have a purpose and not overlap with other bags in your collection. I used to buy different brands and different popular bags, but couldn’t find the one that I can use daily and be happy with. This review is of my ThinkTank CityWalker 10 ($129), my everyday go-to bag. I bought it last February and to this date nothing can beat it in the functionality, ergonomics, ease of …

Surfing in El Porto. January 2014.

There are days when you don’t plan to get anything new. I was going to El Porto for my Elements series. As I was making my way down to the parking, the waves had my complete attention. It was not the typical surfing day and there were only a few people around. But the foam was so nice and the air was so humid that I just had to start with my surfing shoot. Here are a few photos from that day. I actually did end up doing Elements as well, so it was a very productive day.

Langly Delta Rucksack Camera Bag Review

Introduction Having a great camera bag is essential for any photographer. It’s always a good practice to have a veriety of bag for different needs and I think it’s the best way to go. My last photo backpack was LowePro 200 and I really didn’t like it. It was ugly, bulky, and just not for me. A few months ago I got back to my search for a great backpack that will hold all my gear and also look good. I came across several brands, including Crumpler and Langly. This review was inspired by the lack of info you can …

Custom SLR gear review: Glide Strap, C-Loop, Fotopro Monopod

For many photographers having good gear is essential. The camera won’t take the photos by itself, but it can inspire to use it more and in different creative ways to capture the best shots possible. For me my gear is very important. I always want to have the best tools for my needs. A few years ago I found a company called Custom SLR when I was looking for a strap to carry my camera across my body. I generally do 2-3 hour shoots and my camera is always heavy. I want to be absolutely sure it’s secured and protected, …

Two days in Yosemite.

Here are the photos from my recent trip to Yosemite. California is unique in many ways and it definitely has the benefit of rich scenery. As everyone was getting ready for the Thanksgiving Day, I was preparing for the two days in the woods. We rented a tent cabin and that by itself was an unforgettable experience. We had to remove everything from the car as the bears are always looking for food. I am always very attentive to the rules and I’d rather to do everything I can to prevent things from going wrong. We wanted to get the …

LA Auto Show 2013. Mixing my old life and new one.

Last Friday at LA Auto Show 2013 was amazing. I’ve never been to an auto show before even though I can easily pick up any conversation about vehicles. This year I decide to bring my camera with me and capture the photos in my own style. There were many interesting new models and cars I’ve never seen before. The gallery below is a short summary of the day and I hope you enjoy it. The photos are in street and fine art styles, which I’m more interested at the moment. It was fun to capture both kind of images and …

Russian Nature. Ultimate beauty.

There is one thing that I will always pay attention to – nature. I cannot help but see all the beauty around me. This was a rainy day, but it didn’t stop me from grabbing my camera and leaving for a walk in the field. I did get wet, but I got home with some of the most beautiful nature photos I’ve ever taken to date.

Bayphoto Metal Prints Review

As a photographer, I always try to find the best places to print my photos and figure out the best sizes and paper types. A few weeks ago I was watchingthe  online video that described the way Peter Lik prints images. This summer, when I was in Russia, I went to an exhibition where some of the photos were printed not on the regular paper, but on some material that gave the unusual glow to the images. So finally last week I figured out that these were very similar printing techniques, and I wanted to try and see how my …
